The China customs statistics data for 1988-1991 are arranged by 5-digit Standard International Trade Classification (SITC) Rev. 2, 1992-1996 by 6-digit Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (HS), and 1997-2008 by 8-digit HS. Variables include: country of origin/destination; country of purchase/sale; value in USD; quantity; unit of quantity; customs regime; firm type; and province of import/export; location of consumer/producer. Data for 1988-2006 have been converted into SAS files, 2007-2008 data are available as text files. Various documentation files are also available.
